Austin Peay State University invites applications for an Engineering Technologist or Engineer at the rank of Assistant Professor. This is a full-time, 9-month tenure-track faculty position commencing August 1, 2025. The successful candidate will be able to develop and teach lower and upper division courses in the BS Engineering Technology program offerings of the department in the Mechatronics concentration. Candidate will be expected to engage in research and professional activities, contribute to the growth and development of the department through recruiting activities, serve on departmental and university committees, participate in assessment and evaluation, and a variety of other departmental activities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach any of the assigned courses in the Mechatronics concentration, including the major core lower and upper division courses, following ETAC of ABET requirements - https://catalog.apsu.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=47&poid=12066
- Manage complex capstone projects following ETAC of ABET requirements
- Be responsible for a minimum of 30 teaching load credits per academic year, 6 of which will be for advisement, research, committee work, etc.
- Establish productive student-oriented undergraduate research projects
- Assist in the development of any required new courses including online / hybrid courses that meet the needs of the Engineering Technology degree program.
- Demand and maintain high standards and expectations for all students.
- Implement teaching activities and a diversity of teaching techniques, procedures,and resources including application of technology.
- Develop and implement evaluation and assessment techniques that are appropriate for each course.
- Use multiple measures to assess student learning on a regular basis and provide frequent feedback to students relative to their performance.
- Be available and knowledgeable and demonstrate proficiency in the practice of academic advisement of students.
- Conduct appropriate research and scholarly/creative activity within the discipline.
- Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development and growth by being suitably active in professional and community service.
- Exhibit motivation and initiative in keeping up-to-date and current in one's curriculum area by reading/reviewing current scholarly or creative works in their field and by attending conferences, seminars, workshops, courses, and development activities sponsored by the University.
- Must be committed to the continuous improvement process of the program and contribute to program objectives, and outcomes to seek program accreditation by ETAC-ABET
- Serve effectively on committees and other appropriate functions that assist in University governance
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to work effectively with colleagues to support the mission of the institution and related academic units.
- Be willing to teach at times and places necessary to meet student needs.
- Be willing to adopt innovative teaching methods and delivery as appropriate.
- Possess the knowledge, talents and skills in the discipline to promote effective teaching.

- Demonstrate the ability to develop and implement curriculum objectives and content for courses offered and taught in one's curriculum area.
- A Master's degree or higher in Engineering Technology or Engineering in Mechatronics or a closely related field including, but not limited to, Industrial Automation or Electrical
- Documented three years of relevant industrial experience preferred;
- Professional Registration (such as the P.E.) preferred;
- Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff and the community;
- Evidence of good character, mature attitude and professional integrity;
- Mastery of common modern instrumental methods of analysis as pertaining to the candidate's area of expertise;
