Job Description
UMKC's School of Graduate Studies is seeking qualified applicants for a Program Manager of Administrative and Professional Development. This role will report to the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies (SGS). In this role, you would have a significant impact on graduate students (master's level and PhD candidates) as they make their way through their higher education degree programs. This is an exciting opportunity to assist students in meeting their goals! Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
These items would be helpful and beneficial, but are not required for this role:
Starts at $51,875 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.

- Develop a Live Thesis Template; maintain that template and educate students on how to use it for their theses.
- Connect and work with students on their Thesis and Dissertation Reviews
- Coordinate and Support Graduate Student Fellowships, Awards, and Travel Grants
- Oversee GTA Certification and Graduate Assistant overload appointments
- Support for SGS Professional Development by working closely with the Dean and Associate Dean (e.g. Graduate Orientation, 3MT, SGS Career Boot Camp, etc.)
- Organizational support of Graduate Officers, Graduate Council, and Graduate Student Council
- Other duties as assigned

- Possess conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within the Student Support function especially as it pertains to graduate and professional education
- Ability to apply general knowledge of the student support processes developed through education and experiences
- Understanding of Thesis and Dissertation process
- Some event planning and organizational experience
