The Board of Trustees of Ozarka College invites nominations and applications for the position of President. The President is the chief executive officer of the College reporting directly to a seven-member, Governor appointed, Board of Trustees. The successful candidate will ideally take office no later than January 1, 2025.

Ozarka College is a comprehensive technical community college nestled in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains with campuses in Melbourne, Ash Flat, and Mountain View, Arkansas, with additional technical training locations in Ash Flat, Mountain View and the Melbourne airport for the Commercial Pilot aviation program. The College currently serves approximately 1,000 students, generating over 650 FTE, with around 100 full-time and 50 part-time faculty and staff. The Colleges four county service area with a population of approximately 57,000 is well known for its abundance of rivers, lakes, state parks, and attractions.

Major industries include tourism, healthcare, manufacturing, and agriculture.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree with an earned doctorate preferred
  • Five years leadership experience in a senior administrative position or equivalent experience in business, government or non-profit organization
  • Record of successful program development and assessment
  • Knowledge of current major issues facing two-year colleges, both regionally and nationally
  • Political astuteness and the ability to function effectively within the political environment of Arkansas
  • Understanding of the use of technology application
  • Successful experience in developing effective and successful alliances with various organizations devoted to the advancement and improvement of two-year colleges
  • Record of successful administration of the academic, financial, student, and administrative operations, initiatives and outcomes to ensure that Ozarka attains the mandates of its mission.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with administrators, faculty, staff, students, local community members, business and industry, state and local governmental agencies, and other educational institution
  • Ability to innovate and a commitment to fulfill the institution’s mission of expanded services.
