Part-Time Coordinator, Education and Services of the Ruth Smadbeck Communication and Learning Center (CLC)
Under the direction of the Department Chair, the Part-Time Coordinator oversees the experiential education of students in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. They participates in the pedagogical development and assessment of students and establishment of best practices to fulfill various learning outcomes. The Part-Time Coordinator also manages administrative duties such as establishing and cultivating relationships with community partners, and with clients; overseeing the Smadbeck Center’s budget and ordering supplies; and recruiting and training student employees.
Hourly rate: $68.50
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate students during their in-house practica in the Center (once each term);
- Coordinate integration with the Center for Health, Human Development, and Creativity;
- Work with the Department Chair to guide current CSD students/minors toward degree completion;
- Work with the Department Chair and AVP for Academic Administration to coordinate the Center’s budget;
- Purchase materials and supplies needed to maintain the Center;
- Recruit, screen, and accept clients to the Center, manage client appointments, and maintain client files;
- Maintain and monitor professional documents (e.g., annual HIPAA and FERPA training);
- Other duties as may be assigned by the Department Chair and/or VPAA/Dean.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Linguistics, Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology, or related fields.
Other Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in record-keeping software
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Fluency in a second language preferred
