Job Description

This job announcement is to fill two new positions within the Albion Center for Professional Development reporting to the Director of Instruction. The Instructional Designer (ID) will assist contracted creators with course creation, conduct routine audits on existing courses, help with maintaining the LMS, and make edits to courses under the supervision of the director. Working with the Director of Instruction, the ID will aid in strategic planning for the center to ensure academic integrity.

These positions may be eligible for full-time remote work; does not need to have proximity to an ISU campus location, however, may require occasional travel to campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review new courses being created, suggest edits, answer questions, and maintain communication with contracted creators
  • Reviewing and auditing current live courses under the supervision of the Director of Instruction
  • Make edits to courses within the catalog and communicate with course creators and part-time contracted staff
  • Maintain the learning management system used by the center
  • Issue and review course creator contracts
  • The ability to occasionally handle questions or concerns and offer solutions outside regular office hours (weekends, evenings, or during university closures/holidays)
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years' experience in instructional design
    • Knowledge or experience in maintaining an LMS
    • Experience working with online or distance education
    • Working knowledge of instructional design principles and tools
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Master's degree in instructional design or related field
    Additional Information

Salary will be between $60,000 - $70,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
