Job Description

The Anesthesia Assistant cleans and stocks areas of the department; performs data and charge entry into the medical record system; provides assistance to clinical faculty, residents, interns, licensed veterinary technicians and veterinary students with patient care and animal restraint; follows proper biosecurity protocols for each patient.

Required Qualifications

Working knowledge of companion animal anatomy and physiology. Ability to handle and restrain animals as well as learn basic veterinary terminology. Ability to stand and be mobile for long periods of time with the ability to lift 50 lbs. Strong communication skills. Detail oriented, with the ability to work as a team or as a self-motivated individual. Experience in Excel and proficiency in data entry.
Rabies prophylaxis is required (provided by employer)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a veterinary clinical setting.
