Adjunct Governmental Accounting Faculty

The Evergreen State College seeks part-time faculty with professional experience in governmental accounting to teach up to three undergraduate classes as part of a Governmental Accounting Certificate program. The certificate provides introductory to intermediate-level education for current public sector employees and other students seeking new career opportunities. The courses are:

Course 1:Introductory Governmental Accounting Part 1 – Fall Quarter, 4 credits

Course 2:Introductory Governmental Accounting Part 2 – Winter Quarter, 4 credits

Course 3 :Intermediate Governmental Accounting – Spring Quarter, 4 credits

The certificate program is offered through the school for Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) at Evergreen. PaCE provides transformative education for part time students, working adults, and lifelong learners. Drawing on Evergreen’s tradition of innovative curricular design and collaborative learning communities, it offers bachelor’s degree curriculum and stackable certificates that combine theory with practice to help students achieve academic goals, advance their careers, and create a better world.

Part-time faculty hired for this position are expected to teach one or more courses in an online mode. Instruction may be fully synchronous (real-time) on Zoom, or it may consist of a combination of synchronous and asynchronous instruction when appropriate for the course content. The synchronous Zoom sessions will be held one night per week (TBD) starting at 6 pm.

This a remote position that does not require teaching on our physical campus in Olympia, Washington. However a condition of employment is that you have residency in one of the following states: California, Florida, Oregon, New York, Texas, or Washington State and teach remotely from that state.
