Position Announcement

Parking Attendant/Security Officers play a critical role in parking and security services by providing fair, consistent, objective, concise, accurate, safe parking enforcement, proactive campus security, and data entry. Performs parking enforcement, safety and security services and some office duties up to 25 hours per week as needed. Flexible schedule, Monday-Friday from 7am-5pm. This position may also include parking attendant duties for some evening, Saturday and/or Sunday events.

Responsibilities
  • Accurate and detailed parking ticket and trouble reporting, documentation, verification, follow-up, and data entry.
  • Ensure safe and security of all records in accordance with University policies and procedures, campus rules, St. George City ordinances, and Utah State Laws, as applicable.
  • Uphold confidentiality with Utah Criminal Justice Information System (UCJIS) and University platforms.
  • Performs basis safety and security. By securing premises, walking parking lots and walking pathways, monitoring for suspicious behavior or activity. Contacts and coordinates with safety and law enforcement officials should the situation require. May conduct lockouts, jumpstarts, and building checks.
  • Engage with UT employees, students, and the public in a friendly, professional, and respectful manner, always providing the highest ethical and quality service.
  • Exercise conflict resolution.
  • Alert supervisor to parking, safety, and security issues.
  • Assist with parking lot signage and closures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma required, and two years' work experience and/or college education. Associates Degree preferred. Parking Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Emergency Services and/or Homeland Security background preferred.
  • Fingerprint and background check required.
  • Have good judgement, be trustworthy, ethical, and self-motivated.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reports a must..
  • Computer skills and ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
