Position Announcement

Part- Time Office Assistant for Campus View Suites 1 in the Housing and Residential Life Department.

Responsibilities
  • Perform day-to-day office operations (e.g., answering phone calls, responding to walk-in inquirers, processing student and department mail, etc.)
  • Utilize student housing management and student information software to record notes, correspond with students, assess charges, manage applications, etc.
  • Compose and distribute memos, emails, notices, letters, and routine correspondence for students and/or staff
  • Provide first point of contact regarding on-campus housing questions from students, parents, etc.
  • Assist with key inventory and key distribution/reception procedures
  • Give tours of "show rooms/apartments" to prospective students
  • Forward maintenance requests as received
  •  Assist with student check-in/out procedures and processes, including processing pertinent check-in/out records and paperwork
  • Coordinate pertinent student housing business with other campus departments (e.g., Cashier's Office, Registration, Campus Police, etc.) as needed
  • Run reports and conduct special projects as directed
  • Light cleaning of front desk and office spaces as needed
  • Participate in staff trainings and activities
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School diploma. Some post high school education or training preferred
  • Knowledge of business procedures, and office management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of office and telephone etiquette
  • Computer, word processing software (e.g., MS Office, spreadsheets, etc.), and typing proficiency
  • Attention to detail, grammar, punctuation, and spelling proficiency
  • Organizational ability to respond to, and concentrate on, multiple projects simultaneously while facing numerous interruptions by telephone or from walk-in inquirers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals and campus departments in establishing and maintaining effective and positive relationships
  • Outgoing personality with a history of dependability, reliability, and initiative.

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSPart-time hourly staff (overtime-eligible) position, working Monday- Friday 12:30pm-5:00pm.
