Responsibilities
POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Part-time instructor position, paid at $900 per credit hour and governed by University Policies 631 and 638. Responsibilities
- Teach courses as assigned, under the direction of the Department Chair or Program Coordinator. A course catalog by division, major, and discipline is found online at https://catalog.utahtech.edu/courses/
- Provide service to department, college, and university committees as assigned.
- Hold office hours and meet with students enrolled in assigned courses.
- Abide by all applicable executive orders, federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations, as well as University policies and procedures relating to adjunct faculty and general campus employment. Attend and/or complete required trainings by the University and additional training as determined by the Department or Program.
- At least a Master's Degree in related field required.
- Must be a resident of Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Arizona, Texas, Florida or Nebraska to teach online or virtual courses.
- Demonstrated knowledge of course content required.
- Teaching experience in higher education preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively teach students using a variety of instructional methods and apply best practices in the discipline.
- Ability to communicate with diverse groups.
- Ability to use student-centered and active-learning instructional strategies and techniques.
- Ability to motivate and fairly evaluate student progress and achievement.
