Position Announcement





The Recreation and Sport Management (RSM) program is seeking instructors to teach event management and tourism related courses on-campus and other courses that may complement the department curriculum. There is an immediate need for the following courses:
  • Special Event Design
  • Event Management
  • Venue Management
  • Meetings and Convention Management
  • Tourism and Commercial Enterprises

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses as assigned, under the direction of the Program Director/Department Chair.
  • Hold office hours and meet with students enrolled in assigned courses.
  • Abide by all applicable executive orders, federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations, as well as University policies and procedures relating to part-time faculty and general campus employment.
  • Attend and/or complete required trainings by the University and additional training as determined by the Department or Program.
Qualifications





Minimum Qualifications
  • A master's degree or bachelor's degree and five years industry work experience in the discipline (Policy 631.4.5.1).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
  • One or more supporting certifications from an industry professional association.
