The Department of Health Care Diagnostics & Therapeutics at Utah Tech University (UT) in St. George, Utah, invites applications for Adjunct Instructors for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) starting Spring Semester 2023.   • Teach courses as assigned, under the direction of the EMS Program Director. 
  • Abide by all applicable executive orders, federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations, as well as University policies and procedures relating to part-time faculty and general campus employment. 
  • Attend and/or complete required trainings by the University and additional training as determined by the Department or Program.
  • Current and Valid state EMS Instructor certification or willingness to obtain one within six months of employment.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a practicing Paramedic professional.
  • Licensure or certification in State of Utah required, as applicable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of course content required.
  • Teaching experience in higher education preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively teach students using a variety of instructional methods and apply best practices in the discipline.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse groups.
  • Ability to use student-centered instructional strategies and techniques.
  • Ability to motivate and fairly evaluate student progress and achievement.
Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:  Part-time instructor position, paid at $31/hour with 29 hours maximum per week governed by University Policies 631 and 638. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule.  The instructor will typically work 6-10 hours per week.
