The Curricular Systems Coordinator is responsible for conducting all operations relating to the catalog and other various curriculum management systems for the Office of Curriculum and Assessment (C&A), including analyzing and building all programs and courses. This is the primary College position responsible for the updating and maintenance of the official record of programs and courses. The Coordinator assists in the review of all proposed courses and programs for adherence to College policies and curriculum requirements, and in resolving problems relating to new and existing programs and courses. The Coordinator also predicts the impact of curriculum changes on existing curriculum.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze course and program proposals to ensure that all courses and programs meet the curriculum requirements of the College, and that all Board policies are upheld. Determine feasibility of prerequisites, and other related information, for new and existing programs and courses.
• In collaboration with the Director of Curriculum and Assessment, update and maintain the academic catalog, as well as the various records and reports associated with the catalog.
• Create all records for courses and programs and validate records in the college’s various curricular systems on an ongoing basis. Maintain integrity of curricular data.
• Advise and recommend solutions to the Director concerning problems and needed modifications for Banner, CourseLeaf, the catalog, and other curricular systems.
• Resolve database problems reported by college staff, and perform testing during upgrades.
• Maintain current curriculum information on the college catalog website. Act as liaison to Web Services, troubleshoot problems.
• Track the delivery status of programs (in-person, hybrid, online) and report any changes to the Director.
• Report substantive program changes to the Director.
• Retrieve and provide reports on curricular data to various internal departments, including but not limited to Enrollment Services, Student Advising, academic departments, and the accreditation liaison, in preparation for and in support of college operations such as student registration, counseling, educational services, tuition and fees, Perkins reports, the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA), the list of General Education courses, the list of Global Studies courses, etc.
• In collaboration with the Director, resolve issues that arise concerning information related to courses and programs that are identified by deans, faculty, counselors, and Enrollment Services.
• Check and inspect the work of Information Technology Systems consultants assigned to the C&A Office regarding curricular systems’ problems and modifications.

Additional Duties:

• Assist in developing approval processes for curriculum and catalog updates. Design and deliver training, including documentation, to college staff concerning curriculum processes.
• Review and recommend department-approved courses and programs to the C&A Director and Curriculum Committee for consideration.
• Assist the Director in the creation of style guides for the catalog and online descriptions of courses, programs, and other curriculum-related information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in a field related to education or data management.
• Equivalent of two (2) years progressively responsible employment in a business or education setting.
• Education related to, or equivalent experience in managing data.
• Ability to meet deadlines, analyze and organize information, work collaboratively and contribute to a team effort.
• Proficiency in and knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a higher education environment.
• Experience working with the Canvas LMS.
• Experience working with the CourseLeaf CAT and CIM systems.
• Education related to, or equivalent experience in using databases.
