Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060. 

Department Information

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for nine-month, full-time, non-tenure track, Limited Term Instructor or Limited Term Assistant Professor of Biology faculty positions in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology with a preferred start date of August 2024.  Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.  This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia. 


Teaching undergraduate courses including:  

  • Lectures and/or laboratories as needed, in introductory biology (introductory cell biology), genetics, cell biology and/or microbiology. The standard teaching load for a limited term faculty is 15 contact hours of instruction per semester.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, or a closely related discipline is required.  


  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in biology is required.

  • College level teaching experience 
  • Evidence of focus on student success
