Garrett College is inviting applications for the position of Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. This position is responsible for guiding and directing adjunct faculty and staff in the management and delivery of academic programming; providing support to the Dean of Academic Affairs (DAA) in day-to-day operations and initiatives; managing the online e-campus bookstore; monitoring and assessing various instructional programs. Supervise adjunct faculty hiring, training, evaluation and professional development. Work in coordination with the Student Affairs Office to implement 504/ American Disabilities Act (ADA) laws and regulations.

Garrett is a small, public, two-year College nestled in the rural mountains of Western Maryland and is approximately a two-hour drive from Pittsburgh and a three-hour drive from Washington, DC and Baltimore. The area’s most popular tourist attraction is Deep Creek Lake, the largest fresh water lake in Maryland. (Link to Garrett County Chamber of Commerce.) Garrett county is also home to WISP Resort, a four-season resort with multiple ski slopes, golf courses, and outdoor activities. The College employs 22 full-time faculty, 35 part-time faculty, and approximately 85 full-time staff. Garrett College offers degree, transfer, and certificate programs that prepare students for careers and/or further study in the following areas: Addictions Counseling, Business Administration, Computer Science,Cybersecurity,Electrical Engineeringand Pre-Allied Health,Sports Managementand Teacher Educationand more. 

Through the College’s Continuing Education and Workforce Developmentdivision, Garrett offers non-credit career training programs leading to industry-recognized credentials in Allied Health, Construction & Building Maintenance, Manufacturing, and Transportation; business solutions, personal interest courses, and more.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in relevant field. 
  • 2 years of leadership experience in higher education.
  • 2 years of full-time teaching experience (preferably in a community college setting).
