Short Description

Frostburg State University (FSU), Department of Educational Professions, seeks applications for an Assistant/ Associate Professor in the Educational Leadership Doctoral Program (Ed.D.). This full-time, tenure-track position will begin Fall 2024 and is located on the main campus with outreach teaching/support. Instructional opportunities will be available in the summer. Salary and rank commensurate with experience and include University System of Maryland benefits package.

Description of Ongoing/New Duties

The successful candidate will coordinate program admission, implementation and evaluation of the Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and teach doctoral P12 Education Leadership methods courses and other courses aligned to the candidate's expertise. Courses include but are not limited to Educational Law and Ethics, Human Resources, and Educational Finance.  Serve the Ed.D. program as a dissertation chair. Course delivery will include mostly online with opportunities for blended instruction. Ongoing professional development including research and publications as well as department, college, university, and community service. Courses are aligned with the Carnegie Project guiding principles for doctoral program design. 

Minimum Qualifications

Earned doctorate in Educational Leadership or related field. Expertise and experience in P12 school administrative leadership. Evidence of successful teaching experience at a higher education institution. Experience in coordination of programs. Experience in delivery of online instruction. Demonstrated commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Understanding of CPED (Carnegie Project on the Educational Doctorate).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience guiding students through research studies and/or conducting collaborative and/or applied research. Record of scholarly productivity.
