Limestone University invites applications for a full-time position of Director of Alumni and Donor Relations for Institutional Advancement.

Position Summary: 

The Director of Alumni and Donor Relations top priority is to maximize the interaction value each alumni and donor has with the University. The position is responsible for increasing and managing meaningful contact with all alumni and donors. The Director should be building direct contacts with alumni that will result in enhancing engagement and donor participation.

The Director for Alumni and Donor Relations serves as an integral part of the University's overall fundraising team helping to cultivate meaningful relationships with Limestone alumni and donors. 

Develops, coordinates, and evaluates programs and projects to promote alumni relations designed to connect alumni through academic channels such as programs/departments/schools/colleges. Plans, coordinates, and attends events, meetings, or other activities to engage alumni, including alumni and volunteer recognition banquets, receptions, homecoming, and reunions. Identifies, cultivates, and stewards alumni, parents, and volunteers. 

Develops, sustains, and strengthens alumni groups which focus on establishing and maintaining connections through academic/degree programs, year of graduation, geographic location, sports team, etc. and collaborates with other offices on campus in this work.

Create and implement a donor stewardship plan. Ensure that donors are recognized for their level of giving and properly thanked throughout the year. Strong collaboration with members of the Advancement team focused on the donor experience.

  • Written Communication: Writes clearly and effectively both within the college and outside correspondence.
  • Customer Service: Responds quickly and effectively to all constituent’s questions and concerns. Investigates solutions to problems and responds quickly to the concerned party. Is prudent in responding to telephone calls, emails, and other types of correspondence.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Comprehensive understanding of working as a team, relationship builder, volunteer engagement, athletic boosters, and public relations functions. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively, be flexible and compromise to move forward as a team. Accurate and attentive to detail, specifically as it relates to special events. Well organized. Ability to courteously assist and support others. Ability to manage people. Ability to complete projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Ability to utilize Limestone University's donor software program. Education/certification: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Experience required: 5 years in higher education advancement office.

Education and/or Experience:

Education – A Bachelor’s degree is required. Experience –Five plus years of experience in Institutional Advancement with a college or university preferred.

Computer Skills:

To perform the position effectively and successfully should have knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Programs and be able to perform tasks in Word, Excel, etc. Ability to negotiate new computer programs with ease and learn new software.


Travel is required of this position, and theability to occasionally travel alone and with others to meetings, conferences, etc., is expected.
