The Minnesota North College-Hibbing and Itasca Campuses in Hibbing and Grand Rapids is seeking to hire a fixed -term (three years), full-time Psychology Instructor who is committed to excellence in teaching and learning; using active and experiential learning strategies; creating a student-centered environment; teaching students from a wide variety of backgrounds; and working collaboratively with colleagues to create a successful student learning environment.

Position duties include but are not limited to:

  • Instruct students in a variety of Psychology courses, including developmental courses, using student-centered teaching and learning practices.
  • Engage in curriculum development, learning communities, instructional planning, student evaluation, classroom management, interpersonal relations, promotion of safety, and student success.
  • Explore and incorporate technology into curriculum delivery, including online and distance-learning instruction. 
  • Develop multi-cultural, gender- and disability-fair curriculum to serve a diverse learner population.
  • Collaborate in the larger college community and the local community through a variety of activities (e.g., service on committees, college-wide and program-level assessment, student life, etc.).

Work Location: Minnesota North College – Hibbing and Itasca Campuses in Hibbing and Grand Rapids, MN

Salary Range: $51,303 - $71,893/annually 

This salary range is for initial placement only. If currently teaching within Minnesota State, current salary will remain the same.


Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirement

  • Master's degree with a major in psychology or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in psychology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience with a diverse learner population.
  • A commitment to cultural diversity, inclusive teaching, and student success.

Instructors work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits.
