Assistant/Associate Professor of Business & Director of Online Business Programs

Full-time, Tenure Track

Start: July 1, 2024


This is a full time, tenure-track, on-campus faculty position with direct administrative responsibility and oversight of online graduate programs, and overall oversight for online undergraduate programs in the School of Business.


  • Coordinate/oversee the online undergraduate programs in Business, working with the Lead Faculty for Online Business Programs
  • Teach up to 2-3 graduate online and/or undergraduate on-campus business-related courses per semester including, but not limited to, operations, marketing, finance, accounting, management, strategy, data analytics, and other business-related disciplines (as credentialed to teach);
  • Advise students in business majors;
  • Supervise adjunct faculty, graduate assistants and student workers assigned to the online graduate business program;
  • Assist in assessing the quality of the in-person undergraduate program and recommend revisions accordingly;
  • Stay abreast of scholarly developments in specific and relevant fields as well as current teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and assessment;
  • Contribute to the field of business, management, and leadership and/or the profession of college-level teaching;
  • Support the mission, goals and objectives of Crown College; and
  • Engage in general faculty responsibilities, including but not limited to, participation in department and faculty meetings, care of students, committee assignments, and at least 10 hours of scheduled office hours per week to be available to students.


  • Demonstrated experience and expertise teaching Business courses at the college level at both the undergraduate and graduate level and both in-person and on-line formats.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for working with students pursuing higher education.
  • Established ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Demonstrate excellence in spoken, written, administrative, and electronic communication skills.
  • Ability to integrate collegiate teaching and the Christian faith.
  • Experience evaluating students’ work and reporting results promptly.
  • Hands-on experience in the business field itself through previous work and/or consulting experience and external business relationship preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to stay abreast of the fast-changing business environment in order to maintain relevancy in teaching business courses to college-level students.


  • Terminal degree in Business or related field
  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness
  • Experience using computer technology in the teaching/learning process
  • Demonstrated competency in curricular design
  • Demonstrated administrative and program management skills


  • 5+ years of full-time teaching, especially in the context of Christian higher education
  • Experience developing and teaching online courses
  • Familiarity and/or experience with accreditation, standards and assessments 
  • Experience using computer technology in the teaching/learning process
  • Experience advising
  • Active participation in professional organizations
