Position Summary:

The Administrative Program Assistant position provides confidential administrative support to the Chair of the Behavioral Sciences Division by assisting with monitoring, auditing and/or directing projects requiring research, analysis, evaluation, and interpretation. Projects may include data collection for program evaluation, tracking enrollment trends for schedule planning, monitoring advising loads, coordinating HR accommodations for faculty with special needs, assisting with onboarding new faculty, etc. This enables the Division to operate at maximum efficiency and effectiveness. This position provides support to department heads, program coordinators, other faculty, and students. Management of the office, interpretation and application of laws, policies/procedures, service and supplies budget control and data collection and retention for the Division are key functions of this position. This position requires the ability to work effectively with multiple program directors (department heads, Division Chair, Administrative Assistant to the Dean, and committee chairs, club faculty sponsors). The position requires the ability to translate broad directives into discrete tasks, to balance conflicting demands on time, to allocate resources based on priorities developed independently, in consultation with the division chair, and to implement and monitor procedures to meet those priorities. Requires familiarity with and the ability to use numerous computer hardware and software systems on a daily basis in an office environment providing services for faculty and students in higher education. Involves extensive interpersonal contact with students, academic and administrative personnel, and the general public in person, by telephone, fax machine, e-mail, and through letters and memorandums. Requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to maintain precision despite regular interruptions.

Required Qualifications:

● Three years of office experience which included two years at full performance level and experience generating documents; and lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures

● Proficiency with computer programs such as MS Office (especially Word/Excel), Gmail, Google Docs & related software
