Associate Director of Admissions, Strategic Populations


Serving as a member of the office’s senior leadership team, the Associate Director of Admissions for Strategic Populations is a new position and will manage and oversee the recruitment and yield of undergraduate students from key demographics, specifically students of color and high-achieving populations. This position involves developing and executing comprehensive recruitment and yield initiatives to attract and enroll students from these populations, ensuring effective engagement with students, families, school counselors, and community partners.


  • Collaborate with admissions leadership to identify, develop, implement, and evaluate recruitment and yield initiatives for students of color and honors college-eligible students.
  • Develop and foster campus and community partnerships to enhance the effectiveness of admissions efforts.
  • Provide direct supervision to team members focusing on students of color and honors college-eligible students. 
  • Partner with team members to plan and execute activities and initiatives effectively.
  • Utilize data sources to run reports and analyze data for insights, opportunities, and direction for recruitment and yield initiatives.
  • Make data-driven recommendations to enhance strategies for attracting racially/ethnically diverse and academically high-achieving students.
  • Manage a recruitment territory, serving as the primary University liaison for students, families, and high school counselors.
  • Make admission decisions and advocate for students within the assigned geographic area.
  • Build and maintain relationships with college counseling colleagues in the territory.
  • Coordinate training programs for Office of Admissions and college recruitment team members on relevant programs and services.
  • Ensure team members are well-equipped to share information with prospective students and families.


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
  • Five years’ relevant experience.
  • Understanding of college admissions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, coworkers and the general public (written and verbal).
  • Strong public speaking skills.
  • Proven attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including some evenings and weekends.


  • Experience working with academically high-achieving students.
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.


  • Anticipated starting pay is $66,720. This is a terminal position with a current end date of June 2027. Renewal is possible and likely.
