Instructor or Professional-in-Residence
The Roger Hadfield Ogden Honors College at Louisiana State University invites applications for a teaching position starting August 2024 (renewable up to three years). Successful candidate will hold the title of Instructor or Professional In-Residence depending on their qualifications. We seek an MS or PhD in engineering (environmental, biological, civil, chemical, computer, construction management, mechanical, petroleum, industrial) to teach two to three courses per semester. Successful candidate will teach in our core curriculum (small classes focused on critical thinking and writing), and honors sections of courses in the LSU Department of Engineering (statics, dynamics, and vibrations, and/or instrumentation and measurements), with the opportunity to design and implement new honors courses in areas of interest, including study abroad courses. We are especially interested in candidates who have teaching experience at the undergraduate level, and who have a strong interest in teaching high-achieving students from a wide array of majors. Interest or experience with STEAM education, science communication, or engineering ethics and/or policy is also desired. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Administrative duties in the Ogden Honors College will consist of academic coordination, including leading faculty teams, assisting with course assessment, and directing the STEM portion of the new Honors CORE and Honors Delta minors curricula.
Instructor: The applicant will possess an MS or PhD in engineering (Construction Management or Environmental, Biological, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Mechanical, Petroleum, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering) and will have a strong commitment to teaching high-achieving undergraduates.
Professional-in-Residence: The applicant will possess an MS or PhD in engineering (Construction Management or Environmental, Biological, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Mechanical, Petroleum, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering) and have a strong commitment to teaching with at least eight or more years of industrial work experience.
