Position Details:
Indiana State University is seeking a digital newsroom manager and instructor of media production to lead the Office of Student Publications.

The digital newsroom manager and instructor of media production will provide advice, guidance, and qualitative feedback to the students who produce student digital and print publications, such as editors, reporters, photographers, designers, and ad salespeople. The publications include the Indiana Statesman student newspaper and The Sycamore yearbook and companion websites. They will instruct courses in journalism, English, new media writing, digital journalism, media production, or related areas. The individual in this position will help transition the student newspaper, the Indiana Statesman, to a digital-first publication that develops content daily and work with student staff to develop opportunities for advertising on digital platforms; teach up to four classes per year; and work with the executive director of Student Media to develop yearly budgets for the newspaper and the yearbook. Additional duties include recruiting, training, and supervising a student advertising sales and design staff.


Minimum requirements include a master's degree in journalism, digital media, media production, English, or related field. Preferred requirements include one to three years of journalism experience.
