Position Highlights

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Arizona invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in plurality and language of the Southwest United State and Northwest Mexico. This position, made possible by the NSF grant "Compositional Morphosemantics of Plurality", is for one year, based on the appointment date. Preference will be given to individuals with prior research on the form and structure of one or more Yuman languages, as well as knowledge about areal features of languages of the Southwest, especially with respect to the Seri language.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • This person will coordinate the Seri fieldwork for the team and do solo fieldwork in support of the grant goals.  This candidate will work on processing fieldwork materials, and directly contribute to the preparation and publication of articles resulting from the fieldwork data.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Yuman Language

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Linguistics.
  • The selected candidate must have a conferred Ph.D. upon hire.
