The Department of Biomedical Engineering and Mechanics (BEAM) at Virginia Tech invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track instructor position to begin in August 2024. The initial appointment will be for one year with the possibility of continuation dependent upon performance.
Duties will primarily include teaching undergraduate bioinstrumentation laboratory courses in biomedical engineering. Additional opportunities are to teach other undergraduate courses in biomedical engineering based on area of technical expertise and department need. The successful candidate will have an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering or related discipline by date of hire, with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours of courses related to biomedical engineering. Technical experience with bioinstrumentation, instrumentation, or electrical circuit design.
A Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or related discipline. Teaching experience in a university or college, especially in laboratory courses or courses involving biomedical engineering. Knowledge of biomedical sensors and computer-aided design.
