The Department of Physical Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty position (all ranks considered) with expertise in teaching geriatric and musculoskeletal physical therapy content. A strong clinical background and treating individuals across the lifespan is desired. Preference will be given to candidates who also hold a terminal academic degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, DSc) and specialty certification; however, all qualified applicants are welcome to apply. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the musculoskeletal, therapeutic intervention, anatomy and geriatric courses, and based on programmatic needs and content expertise. As a core faculty member, the candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching in addition to scholarship and academic service responsibilities. Individuals must have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, exhibit collegiality and prioritize teamwork.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Earned professional DPT degree from a CAPTE-accredited program
  • ABPTS certified orthopedic or sports clinical specialist (OCS, SCS) and / or geriatric clinical specialist (GCS) preferred
  • Experience working with orthopedic populations across the lifespan; skilled in patient management of individuals with musculoskeletal conditions
  • A Physical Therapist who is licensed in any United States jurisdiction and eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.
  • Prior teaching experience (in some capacity) in an entry-level DPT educational program.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills.
