  • Provide short term mental health counseling: individual, group, crisis intervention.
  • Assist in running of Long Island Office of Counseling and Wellness in the absence of the Director.
  • Conduct Alcohol and Other Drug Sanctions program
  • Be certified and supervise social work interns.
  • Provide campus-wide outreach and prevention programming. Work with, supervise, and train student Peer health Educators.
  • Provide training workshops for Student Leaders and Residential Advisors and clubs and organizations. Be a part of new student orientations.
  • Provide consultation services and trainings for campus personnel.
  • Create a referral network for out-patient services.
  • Competent using social media platform to promote Counseling and Wellness Services
  • Be a part of campus wide committees, including Alcohol and other Drug Task Force
  • Work collaboratively with staff and faculty to offer a holistic approach to wellness.


  • LCSW, MSW or LMHC required.
  • Required field of expertise: short term counseling techniques, crisis management and risk assessment
  • Preferred Training/Certification: 3 years' experience in a college counseling center
  • Required Licensure: NYSLMHC or NYSLMSW
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and administrative skills required.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse student body.
  • Excellent crisis management skills
  • Ability to organize and facilitate workshops/programs.
  • Ability to use social media to promote services.

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.

USD $65,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $71,370.00/Yr.
