Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Associate Communication, Events and Training Specialist will work with the CETE Manager, subject matter experts, IT leadership, and application team members to craft communications to support assigned projects.
The Associate Communication, Events and Training Specialist will collaborate in developing and delivering training to Weber State staff.
The Associate Communication, Events and Training Specialist will design, develop, post, deliver, manage, update and maintain computer-based training.
The Associate Communication, Events and Training Specialist will develop courses that can be delivered in-person, through webinars or online. Present computer-based as well as instructor-led training classes.
Converts IT classes into dynamic, interesting, effective and engaging courses that can be delivered as computer-based training and webinars; self-guided as well as instructor guided.
Coordinate and maintain the IT training website by posting and updating events, sessions, materials, and any other information.
Analyze, recommend, develop and deploy improved ways of using technology to track reports measuring class reservations, attendance, evaluations and course effectiveness.
Studies and develops skills and methodologies for progressive learning and training methods.
Conduct research into communication, learning, and development of products, services, and systems to support the development and purchasing efforts.
Responsible for assisting with developing and implementing training benchmarks for continuous improvement of training programs/events.
Required Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Education, Communication, Business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1 Year experience in creating communication/marketing projects
- ITIL Foundations within 1 yr of hire
Preferred:
- General experience with Adobe, Microsoft, Apple and other industry software programs.
- Video editing and instructional design experience.
