Job Summary
Assistant Directors of Program Management (ADPM) are considered senior representatives of Ariadne Labs, its mission and its values, both internally and externally. Working in cooperation with a lead clinician or medical faculty, subject matter and training experts, and Ariadne's Innovation platform team, the ADPM will support the design, scoping and execution of early stage projects targeted at addressing problems in the delivery of healthcare systems, and improving patient outcomes.
Under minimal direction, the ADPM performs a wide range of activities that vary in scope, including the management of resources (e.g., personnel, subcontractors, budgets) in a complex environment, and ensuring that the project is adhering to any necessary protocols, schedules and plans for any planned research activities. In support of project deliverables, the ADPM collects relevant data and perspectives, helps to identify high potential options, and integrates their work with other members of the team.

This is a hybrid position that is based in Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. Ariadne Home Hospital Overview
Ariadne's Home Hospital Initiative is a diverse portfolio of projects focusing on driving advanced care to the home. The team's largest focus is on acute care at home, or the provision of hospital-level care at home as a substitute for the traditional hospital. The team currently manages a multi-site randomized controlled trial of rural home hospital, a national early adopters accelerator to promote home hospital, the design of a novel pathway to treat acute psychiatric patients at home, and an international fellowship. The goal of the team will be to execute the above projects and grow its portfolio in several strategic areas through grant and user funding.

Position Description
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Project Management
- Project planning, including but not limited to: understanding the project objectives, building a project plan (including timelines and deliverables that meet those objectives), revising and updating the tasks, timelines, and deliverables as appropriate.
- Lead the proposal process in collaboration with the grants manager
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Associate Director and/or Program Director and the Home Hospital team; help articulate the program's strategy to internal and external partners
- Manage and execute grant writing initiatives to further expand the scope of work and funding
- Contribute content and technical expertise to team deliverables including reports, presentations, websites, concept notes, grants, and manuscripts or journal articles
- Assist in identifying funding opportunities to support the scaling of existing projects and development of new ones.
- Preparing donor reports, updates, and check-in meetings
- Partnering with grants manager extensive financial responsibility includes developing and managing the budget; Monitor team capacity and proactively address resource gaps
- Identifying and securing appropriate Ariadne resources and support to ensure project deliverables are completed on time and on budget
- Foreseeing, mitigating, and solving issues and problems as they arise; clearing barriers to success for the team
- Manage and mentor at least one project coordinator and a research assistant, providing direction and timely feedback on deliverables
- Composing and disseminating regular program communications for internal and external audiences
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with key internal stakeholders, including specialist team members to meet the program's objectives
- Developing and strengthening highly collaborative relationships with external parties, including but not limited to: coordination of priorities and tasks, meeting management, long-term strategic planning
- Ensuring all work is undertaken in compliance with IRB and any other necessary ethics boards in collaboration with the Research Manager assigned to the team and/or Ariadne's ethics specialist
- Representing the Home Hospital Team at organization-wide meetings and events, including through the presentation of project updates and future plans
- Participate in, and encourage team member participation in, Ariadne Labs' organizational meetings, updates, and community building activities.
- Communicate Ariadne organizational updates to team members.
- Share learnings from the Home Hospital project with other Ariadne program teams.
- Model and reinforce Ariadne's values by serving as a steward of not only the Rural Home Hospital team, but of Ariadne's overall mission and goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required
- 7+ years of experience is required
The following job-specific skills and competencies are preferred:
- Master's Degree
- 3-5 years experience managing multiple projects and people simultaneously
- Experience working in a matrix organization/environment
- Experience managing projects using agile methods such as Scrum
- Experience with fundraising and/or cultivating relationships with external stakeholders
- Budget management experience
- Experience in a role requiring leadership and collaboration both within an organization and with external partners, as well as a demonstrated ability to work efficiently and diplomatically as part of a team effort
- Experience managing and mentoring junior team members, both individually and in small teams
- Comprehend large amounts of information, draw conclusions, and effectively communicate key findings
- Excellent self-management skills, including work well independently and problem solve proactively
