University of Illinois seeks a Career Services Coordinator  in Champaign, IL.  Duties: 70% - Assist undergraduate & graduate students and post-docs with the advising and job search process: 
  • Assist students with resume and cover letter writing, interviewing skills, and job search preparation.
  • Advise students regarding career exploration and goal setting, job searching, and graduate/professional school plans
  • Conduct mock interviews for students seeking employment and admission into graduate/professional school
10% - Manage technology and social media:
  • Provide basic student career and academic advising via email and other online platforms
  • Provide support in developing content for bi-weekly Career Services newsletter and social media platforms
  • Train and monitor student use of Handshake and maintain updated records of meetings with students on Handshake
20% - Plan and communicate events and services:
  • Develop and implement career events and workshops
  • Communicate career-related information and opportunities to students and coach students on professional development skills
  • Collaborate actively with academic advisors, faculty and deans to enhance communications to students and increase their participation in career exploration and professional development programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned to further the mission of the unit
Requirements: Bachelor's in Counseling, College Student Personnel, Higher Education, Chemical Sciences, or relate. This position also requires one year of professional work experience in career counseling, recruiting, career services or closely related areas. Experience may be gained during part time work.
