University of Illinois seeks a Career Services Coordinator in Champaign, IL. Duties: 70% - Assist undergraduate & graduate students and post-docs with the advising and job search process:
- Assist students with resume and cover letter writing, interviewing skills, and job search preparation.
- Advise students regarding career exploration and goal setting, job searching, and graduate/professional school plans
- Conduct mock interviews for students seeking employment and admission into graduate/professional school
- Provide basic student career and academic advising via email and other online platforms
- Provide support in developing content for bi-weekly Career Services newsletter and social media platforms
- Train and monitor student use of Handshake and maintain updated records of meetings with students on Handshake
- Develop and implement career events and workshops
- Communicate career-related information and opportunities to students and coach students on professional development skills
- Collaborate actively with academic advisors, faculty and deans to enhance communications to students and increase their participation in career exploration and professional development programs
- Perform other duties as assigned to further the mission of the unit
