Job Description:
Weber State University invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position or full time instructor (see required qualifications) in the School of Computing to begin in Fall 2024. The School of Computing houses three programs: Computer Science, Cybersecurity and Network Management, and Web & User Experience.
Job Duties:
Successful candidates will have duties that include teaching undergraduate level courses, in a variety of modalities and campuses, including but not limited to: Face-to-Face, Virtual, and Online classes at the Ogden and Davis campus as well as some night classes, conducting some research and scholarship, participating in course and curriculum development, and providing service to the department, college, and the university.
Required Qualifications:
To be eligible for a tenure track appointment applicants must have a PhD or other terminal degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline or be on track to complete their terminal degree by the start of the 2024 Fall semester.
To be eligible for an instructor appointment applicants must have a Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in the areas of Cybersecurity, Operating Systems, Databases, Cloud Computing, Data Networking, Linux Administration, Virtualization, Server Administration, Risk Management, Policy Creation and Enforcement, and Security Management
Preference will also be given to candidates with university-level teaching experience, as well as those with additional industry experience.
Relevant industry certifications (CISSP, CISA, CEH, CompTIA Security+, etc) are recommended.
A strong commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in the cybersecurity field.
The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
Seeking applicants who are able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. They must also demonstrate proven ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with students, staff, and faculty peers.

Instructor positions are temporary appointments, renewable by separate contract at the sole discretion of the University. Transition from Instructor to Tenure-Track requires completion of all necessary requirements and appropriate administrative approvals.
