Position: Full-time (10-month), tenure-track with full benefit package
Wage: Up to $54,000 for Assistant Professor and up to $60,000 for Associate Professor, as per CBA

The University of Montana Western Division of Education welcomes applicants for an Assistant or Associate Professor specializing in Early Childhood Education. Primary responsibilities will include teaching experientially based courses related to foundations of early childhood education, including but not limited to, professionalism, positive guidance, early childhood curriculum, assessment, inclusion, and/or early intervention. Courses may be taught in both online and/or face-to-face formats. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain professionalism, scholarly productivity, professional service, advising, and committee work.

The successful candidate:
- Must hold a doctorate in Early Childhood Education or a related field (ABD will be considered).
- Must have demonstrated success teaching in face-to-face and online courses at the post-secondary level.
- Must have taught for three or more years in an early childhood setting (PK-3rd grade).
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with a diverse array of Pk-12 partners and stakeholders in teacher preparation.
- Must demonstrate a strong knowledge base in experientially based early childhood developmental theories.
- Must have experience with leadership and professionalism skills in early childhood settings.
The successful candidate may:
- Have experience working with diverse student populations.
- Have experience with accreditation for early childhood programs and/or higher education programs.
- Have experience in connecting academic libraries to community contexts.
- Have the ability to embrace new teaching technologies, especially within learning management systems (ex. Canvas).

Montana Western is the only public four-year college in the nation offering Experience One (X1), experiential learning delivered on the block schedule. Class sizes are small, and students take a single course at a time, three hours each day for 18 days, before moving on to the next course. Each course is four credits, and four blocks are offered each semester. The block schedule facilitates field and lab work, undergraduate research, study travel, and interdisciplinary teaching.
