Job Description

This position will manage and ensure the secure and efficient operation of e-commerce and payment systems within Idaho State University. This position is responsible for a wide range of tasks related to e-commerce platforms, payment security, and overall technical support. Additionally, this position does require work outside of normal business hours, some work on nights and weekends is required.

1. Development and Maintenance of E-commerce Sites:
  • Design, develop, and maintain secure e-commerce platforms that enable smooth transactions and interactions within the university community.
2. TouchNet Cashiering Site Setup and Support:
  • Establish and support TouchNet cashiering sites for various departments, ensuring compliance with PCI standards. Act as the primary liaison for non-TouchNet point-of-sale (POS) systems to ensure PCI compliance.
3. Technical Support for TouchNet Processes:
  • Provide technical assistance to departments using TouchNet processes and peripheral equipment, ensuring the reliability and security of payment transactions.
4. Webpage Design for Student Financial Services:
  • Design and maintain visually appealing and user-friendly webpages for the Student Financial Services department, enhancing the online experience for students and staff.
5. Online PDF Form Development:
  • Develop and maintain secure online PDF forms for the Controllers Office, streamlining administrative processes and enhancing data security.
6. PCI Compliance Assessments:
  • Conduct regular assessments and audits of the e-commerce platform and associated systems to ensure alignment with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
7. Security Policy Development and Implementation:
  • Collaborate with the PCI Compliance Committee to establish and enforce security policies and procedures specific to the e-commerce environment, focusing on access controls, encryption, data retention, and incident response.
8. Training and Awareness Initiatives:
  • Educate e-commerce teams on PCI compliance best practices, security awareness, and data protection measures, fostering a culture of security awareness within the university.
9. Industry Standards Monitoring:
  • Stay updated on evolving trends, regulations, and industry standards related to e-commerce and payment security, ensuring the university remains compliant with emerging security protocols.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or related degree.
  • At least one year of experience in web development and e-commerce site management.
  • At least one year of experience with e-commerce platforms and payment systems.
  • At least one year of technical support experience, especially in the context of payment processing systems.
  • At least one year of experience in web design and development for user-friendly webpages.
  • Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication skills to work as a liaison and provide training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of PCI DSS and payment security best practices.
  • Knowledge of data security policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in web development technologies and programming languages (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP)
  • Extensive experience in developing and maintaining e-commerce sites, especially in a higher education environment.
  • Proven experience in setting up and supporting payment systems like TouchNet and non-TouchNet POS systems.
  • Previous involvement in conducting PCI compliance assessments and audits.
  • Experience in designing and maintaining user-friendly webpages for educational institutions.
  • Substantial experience in security policy development and implementation.
Additional Information

Salary will be between $60,000 and $65,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
