Finance Operations Team, Division of Finace and Administration

Job Description

The Division of Finance and Administration is seeking an experienced individual to join our Finance Operations Team as a Finance Operations Support Specialist. This position works in an office environment and provides fiscal support to one or more colleges, schools, or divisions within a university setting. The Finance Operations Team reports to the Finance Operations Manager.

This position is responsible for high levels of data entry. The selected individual needs to possess strong organization skills, be a problem-solver, and have the ability to work through issues quickly in a positive and constructive manner. They also need to be able to build effective working relationships within the colleges, schools, or divisions they support, other University departments, and external constituents. An ideal candidate is flexible and open to changes that best support our team and university stakeholders.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Processing daily fiscal transactions including accounts payable, OneCard transactions, reconciliation, and travel & expense reimbursements for a variety of colleges, schools, divisions, and departments as assigned.
  • Processing purchase requests for departments (e.g., OneCard, ePro, Requisitions, etc.) and assisting with supplier maintenance.
  • Maintaining an ongoing knowledge of University policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring compliance with University procurement policies.
  • Communicating and collaborating with unit representatives and unit Finance and Budget Consultants.
  • Providing support for special projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related area
  • Previous experience working with PeopleSoft Finance module
  • Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, verbal and written communication skills, and an eye for detail.
Salary

Up to $20.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
