New Mexico State University Grants, (located in Cibola County in Northwest New Mexico) is seeking qualified candidates for Computer Technology College Assistant Professor, Non-Tenure Track 9-month position. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. ($48,000-$58,000) with an increment for candidates who are credentialed in more than one content area.

New Mexico State University Grants Community College is seeking applicants for a full-time College Assistant Professor of Computer Technology. This is a nine-month full-time faculty position located at the Grants campus. The individual will be responsible for teaching 15 credits per semester (Fall and Spring) in Computer Technology, Introduction to IT, PC Maintenance and Repair, Windows, Networking, Network Security and related courses. Teaching load may include day, night, offsite and possibly weekend classes. Responsibilities include maintaining attendance, academic, and student records, as well as posting and maintaining office hours as per NMSU policy; service on college committees; curriculum development; outcomes assessment; program recruitment; scholarly & creative work (related to teaching field or area of expertise); professional development other areas of service and scholarship, as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field.

2 years full-time teaching experience or the equivalent work experience

Experience teaching online courses

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of 18 credits of coursework in graduate-level computer science or computer technology.
  • Experience teaching at the community college level. 
  • Experience teaching online using the CANVAS learning management system.
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum and course content development.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing innovative teaching methods to improve student success and retention.
  • Possess related industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+ and/or A+ or Cisco Instructor.
  • Demonstrated experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and academic abilities.
