Position Announcement

The Part-Time Trailblazer Child and Youth Program (TCYP) Administrative Assistant will assist in the program's daily operations and support the TCYP full-time members and potential student interns. 
TCYP provides semester-long (12 weeks) internship opportunities during the fall, spring, and summer. Interns serve in the U.S. Navy's Child Development Centers and School Age Care and Teen Programs. Internship locations include various locations throughout the U.S., including California, Washington, Hawaii, and many more. Opportunities for international travel may also be available. Interns are engaged in experience working with children and youth while networking with the world's largest employer, the Department of Defense. Responsibilities
*     Help manage and keep records of the TCYP student recruitment and enrollment process, utilizing Microsoft Excel and University programs like Slate CRM (on-the-job training will be provided).
*     Support prospective interns as they move through the recruitment/application process through all communication channels, answering questions about the admissions process, alleviating concerns, assisting with application submission, and following through to enrollment.
*     Provide customer service to interns and prospective interns through email, phone, social media, and in-person interactions.
*     Provide administrative support to the TCYP staff.
*     Prepare and track purchase requisitions, travel authorizations, and other University forms and processes as needed.
*     Assist in TCYP events as needed.
*    Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
*     High School Diploma/equivalent GED required. Associate's degree (or higher) preferred.
*     Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, and Zoom proficiency are required.
*     Proficiency with social media platforms such as Facebook, lnstagram, and TikTok is required.
*     Excellent public relations, customer service, and writing skills.
*     Ability to work with diverse individuals and teams.
*     Ability to manage urgent priorities with projects of various sizes and timelines.
*     Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
*    Ability to pass a federal background check.

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION, AND BENEFITS: Part-time hourly staff (overtime-eligible) position, working up to 30 hours per week. Hourly rate of $16.20+ depending on experience.
