Position Highlights
This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the combined Business Office serving the School of Animal & Comparative Biomedical Sciences (ACBS). The Business Manager develops and establishes procedures for the daily financial operations of the Business Office according to policies and procedures established by the University and the Division of Agriculture, Life, and Veterinary Sciences & Cooperative Extension (ALVSCE). The Business Manager controls and manages proper accounting of Departmental and Center operational budgets, advises faculty and staff on financial matters, and serves as the main backup support to the HR Generalist II. This position reports to the Manager, Finance and Administration but will have areas of financial responsibility where independent decision making and judgment will be required to manage business center operations.Outstanding UA benefits include health, dental, and vision

Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and controls ACBS' expenditures
in accordance with budgets; approve request for supplies and services or
other purchases; prepare operational and special budgets for the
department and faculty; coordinate preparation of Departmental and
Center financial reports; analyze and interpret financial data to
forecast departmental resource needs. - Assist with Quarterly all funds
reports, Axiom annual all funds planning reports, manages Federal NIFA
funds, subawards, rate studies, etc. - Coordinates and participates in
internal and external audits; analyzes and plans for the needs of the
business office, capital equipment and improvements, supplies and
services, and takes appropriate action within budget limitations;
represents ACBS at meetings and conferences at all levels of the University
organization; supervises, trains, and ensures professional development
of staff. - Works closely with Manager,
Finance and Administration on departmental planning; provides input and
ideas to further future departmental growth. - Develops relationships with
other Units and Central offices and communicates when problems arise in
all areas. - Establish efficient business
practices and keep up to date with policies, regulations, and
procedures. - Work with Business offices at
ALVSCE Experiment Station and County offices to ensure support for ACBS
faculty/staff stationed at these locations. - Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to communicate
effectively with different groups/individuals. - Ability to handle confidential
and sensitive information.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
advanced learning attained through professional level experience required. - Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is
required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading a small team and coaching members to success through skill development, performance goals, and corrective coaching as required.
- Experience with UA Systems/Applications.
