The Faculty Auto/Diesel Specialty Coordinator is to provide specific industry expertise and apply their knowledge to course content. The Coordinator will focus on promoting achievement of student learning outcomes for the assigned course load. This role will also be responsible for the oversight of the Auto/Diesel Running Start program, in addition to assisting with administrative duties that support the program director.

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Provides leadership and lead instruction for assigned specialty course(s) and other supplemental courses as needed.
  • Provides lecture and laboratory instruction for assigned courses each semester.
  • Assists the Dean and Program Director with curriculum planning, textbook recommendations, ongoing assessment and evaluation, and revisions for the assigned core specialty courses.
  • Assists with hiring adjunct faculty for core specialty areas.
  • Provides orientation and mentoring of adjunct faculty in core specialty courses.
  • Assists with student tutoring when indicated.
  • Participates in department, division, and program meetings.
  • Participates in professional development to maintain current knowledge in automotive and diesel educational methodologies.
  • Maintains standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional faculty position.
  • Perform administrative duties that support the dean and program director, as needed.
