Position Highlights
The Office for Transfer Credit and Articulation is seeking applicants to fill the position of Office Specialist. This position encompasses various tasks including fielding questions via telephone calls, e-mail, and walk-ins, routing inquiries to appropriate team members, referring students to the Advising Resource Center on the 2nd floor where appropriate, assisting with the director's calendar, note-taking at meetings, adding/editing content on the unit's website, reconciling office expenses, and other duties as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides general assistance and information to students, stakeholders, and departments including information about transfer, the functions of the office, and refers people appropriately based on their identified needs.
- Confers with team members with questions about where to send students and also provides team members with advance notice of challenges students may be encountering, so that solutions are prepared expediently for the students.
- Assists building manager with certain responsibilities such as building access, managing pick-up of surplus items in building, keeping supply room organized and stocked, handling ordering water, and coordinating with building occupants to maintain clean common areas such as appliances and refrigerator.
- Handles financials such as ordering office supplies, renewing subscription services, and scheduling and paying for events.
- Prepares various documents and communications including correspondence and meeting minutes, as well as transcribing and interpreting various qualitative information, such as survey feedback, and/or general feedback.
- Adds and edits content on the unit's website.
- Requires minimal supervision
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Highly organized
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
- Familiarity with websites and chat functions within websites
- Understands both individual competency and as well as contributions in a team environment
- An interest in the higher education environment and supporting students, administrators, faculty, and team members
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent learning attained through experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some college and 1 year of experience in administrative support role.
