Grace College invites applications and nominations for the position of Faculty member in the Department of Engineering who will hold the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Responsibilities include teaching, advising, and university service, scholarly activity, and professional development.

Grace College is a Christ-centered Liberal Arts College informed by pietist and evangelical traditions. Located in the resort community of Winona Lake, near Warsaw, Indiana (36 miles west of Ft. Wayne), Grace College offers 52 academic majors (38 minors). Central to the mission is developing character, sharpening competence, and preparing for service. Our goal in Christian living and teaching is to make Christ preeminent in all things. The programs of the college, as well as its community lifestyle commitment, are designed to encourage serious academic inquiry, a biblical worldview, spiritual understanding, and social conscience, all in the context of God's grace.

The engineering department at Grace is young, ABET accredited, and growing. The department is focused on using hands-on applications to cement the theoretical foundations of the engineering profession. The objective of the department is to create engineers that will be ready to succeed in the ever-changing world of industry and strive to use the skills to make the world a better place. The successful candidate will continue to develop classes and lab experiences to challenge and equip the Mechanical Engineering students. The Engineering department desires an intimate connection to the surrounding community and this position will need to continue to grow this connection.

Qualifications: This position offers a challenging opportunity to a faculty member who seeks to help grow an engineering program. The successful candidate will have:

  • A PhD in mechanical engineering or an allied field
  • Expertise in several of these areas: (Circuits, Materials, Thermo, Heat Transfer, and Fluids)
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching with a minimum of five years at the college level
  • Experience in course design and curriculum development
  • Industry experience is desired
  • A desire to integrate faith with learning in all areas of life
  • A willingness to collaborate with colleagues and students
  • Evidence of relevant scholarship
