About TAU Lowy International School
Tel Aviv University (TAU), Israel’s largest and most comprehensive university, is currently seeking a full-time Director for the TAU Lowy International School North America Office located in midtown Manhattan. The TAU Lowy International School, an academic and student services department within the wider campus of Tel Aviv University, hosts over 2,500 international students each year on a wide variety of academic opportunities including full undergraduate and graduate degrees, study abroad, summer, and gap year programming. The TAU Lowy North America Office oversees student services and relationship management for students, institutional partners, and other important stakeholders from the US and Canada. The TAU Lowy International North America Office team is an integrated part of, and employed by, the US-based American Friends of Tel Aviv (AFTAU) organization.
Supervised by the Israel-based TAU Lowy International School Director, this full-time position will provide both strategic leadership and operations management for the TAU Lowy International School in North America, including: staff management, budget and financial services oversight, student outreach and recruitment, management of institutional partnerships and agreements, representing TAU at North America conferences and related events, and performing other duties as assigned from time to time.
Position Duties and Expectations
· Supervise 4 North America team members;
· Work collaboratively and effectively across all TAU Lowy International School on-campus teams including Graduate and Undergraduate Degree teams, Study Abroad, Academics, International Development, Student Services, Student Life, Housing and Visa and Insurance Teams;
· Develop and implement a strategic plan (evaluated and adjusted annually) to attract, increase, support, and retain students from North America;
· Pursue, establish and maintain contacts, relationships and collaborations with high schools, universities, community organizations, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and any other relevant stakeholders;
· Evaluate current TAU Lowy systems and work to refine them, with the goal to improve all phases of the North America student admissions, pre-departure and returnee experience;
· Together with the TAU International Development Team, promote and advance TAU’s internationalization goals and objectives while initiating and managing institutional agreements in North America;
· Represent TAU at conferences in the North America region and other related events intended to raise the TAU Lowy International School institutional profile;
· Together with the relevant on-site teams, develop and manage Customized Programs from North America;
· Assist with faculty, coordinators or delegations coming to/from the US or Canada as needed;
· Work collaboratively with the Canadian and American Friends of Tel Aviv University organizations particularly as it relates to relevant promotional events and scholarship management and administration;
· Maintain responsibility for all North America fiscal and business matters, including vendor management, budget oversight, and compliance with annual audits, federal aid audits, and other fiscal matters in accordance with TAU and AFTAU policy;
· Ensure all policies and regulations of the Department of Education are adhered to as they relate to federal financial aid;
· Relay emergency, risk, and/or other urgent communications as needed to enrolled students and partners.
Due to the dynamic nature of the international education field, additional time beyond regular office hours is to be expected, as is occasionally working evening or early morning hours as necessary to communicate with students, partners or colleagues in different time zones. This position is based in NYC and offers a hybrid work environment, working in the North America office located in midtown Manhattan 2-3 days per week and the remainder WFH. This position requires some travel both domestically and internationally.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field along with 3-5 years of outstanding previous leadership experience in the international and/or higher education fields in the United States; previous supervisory, managerial and budgetary experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment and be already located within the United States; no visa sponsorship or relocation is offered as part of this position.

· Knowledge of Israel and/or the Jewish world particularly as it relates to student communities and academic organizations;

Benefits and Compensation
