Job Description

UMKC's Office of Admissions is seeking applications to fill our Senior Enrollment Advisor position.  Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain a strong knowledge of UMKC's programs, policies, awards, values, and distinctions.

  • Review admissions applications, transcripts, and test scores and process for admission

  • Process First Time College and Transfer Applications

  • Monitoring and assisting with prospective student email inbox and telephone calls

  • Coordinate the completion of student files before being reviewed for an admissions decision. 

  • Review when processing all transcripts and test score information and determine if the documents are official or unofficial.

  • Release admit/deny decisions.

  • Provide information to departments on the status of undergraduate applications

  • Calculate GPA for students to assess admissions eligibility. 

  • Gain knowledge of our Slate, Peoplesoft and Perceptive Content data base systems.

  • Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff and the community concerning application status and general university information.

  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal/presentation skills

  • Perform related duties as necessary including providing assistance for recruiting events and other Admissions Office functions.
  • Other Duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of admissions experience preferred.

Salary

$19.00 - $20.00 per hour commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
