The Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences at Boston College invites applications for a senior scholar to serve as the John R. and Pamela Egan Chair of Computer Science. We are seeking a scholar whose area of expertise is in Computer Science broadly understood. Applicants should present a distinguished record of publication and teaching experience in areas related to Computer Science. The appointment will be a tenured position at the rank of Full Professor in the Computer Science Department, with a preferred start in advance of the Fall 2024 semester.
The Computer Science Department of Boston College is in an exciting period of growth. The strategic plan for Computer Science at Boston College includes launching a Ph.D. program in the next few years, and the Egan Chair will play an important role in the development of that program. The department currently has strengths in Theory and Artificial Intelligence, and the preference is for candidates whose research could complement one or both of these areas.

Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related discipline is expected. A distinguished record of publication and teaching experience in areas related to computer science, commensurate with the rank of Full Professor.
