Job Summary:
This position will coordinate access to Electronic Theses & Dissertations (ETDs), Faculty Scholarship, Open Access (OA) Journals, and other OA creative works. This position will administrate and optimize scholarly platforms like the Institutional Repository (IR). Optimization efforts will be accomplished through refinement of metadata limiters and increasing discoverability. As platforms evolve this position will be expected to stay aware of trends and have the capacity to migrate metadata between vendors. This position will have the requisite knowledge to describe and manage metadata records in OA platforms. The Digital Publishing Specialist will document workflows and facilitate the project planning to onboard new scholarship and support existing scholarship. Developing workflows to capture campus publications will be an expectation of this position. This will require proactive outreach to the offices of the Registrar, Graduate Studies, and Colleges, among other campus organizations. This position has broad latitude to collaborate with partners within and outside the university to pursue advancements in areas including but not limited to new conceptions and outputs of library publishing, publishing workflows and competencies, digital publishing platforms, publishing pedagogy, and digital humanities.
