Job Summary
Works in collaboration with members of the division to develop and manage alumni engagement programs focused on increasing the depth and diversity of alumni relations. Responsible for recruiting and managing alumni volunteer leadership in targeted geographic, academic, and affinity group programs. Increases alumni involvement and participation in the life of the University through communications, outreach efforts, events, and volunteering.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinates development, implementation, and execution of all affinity groups & network events, programs and communications
2. Develops strategies to increase alumni involvement with alumni programs and events
3. Manages collaborative relationships with campus departments to identify, promote, and execute new and existing engagement programs
4. Attends and assists with campus and alumni events as assigned
5. Identifies, promotes and develops relationships with influential alumni
6. Partners with Annual Giving Office to support, identify, and cultivate affinity-based fundraising efforts
7. Develops, implements, and executes a volunteer training program including processes for volunteer identification, stewardship, and succession planning
8. Collaborates with campus partners to create, provide, and support volunteer engagement opportunities
9. Serves as the lead staff liaison for KSUAA Affinity Group & Network volunteer, providing support for meetings, events, and volunteer leadership and assists in establishing new affinity groups and networks
10. Represents and attends assigned committee meetings, events, and programs and is visible to alumni, donors, students, faculty, staff, and families
11. Works with an assigned volunteer committee of the Alumni Association Board of Directors to set and achieve agreed upon goals
12. Plans and Manages department Corporate and regional Nest events
13. Creates communication content for programs, including print, web, email, social media, and promotional items, in accordance with branding guidelines
14. Assists with the strategy and marketing of department events including collaborating with schools, units, and/or campus offices
15. Creates marketing and communication collateral for events and as needed for other activities
16. Serves as staff coordinator for social media outlets including Alumni KSU on Instagram and Facebook
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license
Required Experience
Three (3) years of work experience in alumni relations and/or engagement in an educational setting
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge/NXT or other advancement CRM platform preferred
Experience in fundraising or development preferred
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
