Student Affairs Case Coordinator
Southern Connecticut State University seeks a student-centered professional to serve as the Student Affairs Case Coordinator. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Students, the successful candidate will coordinate case management services to a population of undergraduate and graduate students struggling to function in the university system, students experiencing issues adjusting to academic and social life and students experiencing varying degrees of need and distress. The Case Coordinator will assist in the overall coordination of the Opportunity and Support Center, which offers case management services, coordinate the on-campus food pantry and coordinates external partners and resources for students.
The Case Coordinator must be a student-centered, self-initiated professional with the ability to manage multiple tasks, and be able to communicate effectively, both written and orally, with multiple stakeholders. The Case Coordinator must have the ability to exercise tact and discretion when handling sensitive issues. In addition, the coordinator must demonstrate cultural awareness and competency and an ability to contribute to a campus committed to diversity, inclusion, and social justice. A master’s degree in counseling, social work, higher education/student affairs or related field and three (3) years of experience in higher education is required.
