Hospitality Systems Administrator
Job Description
Manages all networking aspects relevant to the Student Affairs dining servers, cash registers, firewall, receipt printers, kiosks, mobile devices, and kitchen display systems. Assures all hardware and operating systems are functional, secured, and patched with critical updates on a monthly basis. Secures systems using network and firewall policies to insure confidentiality, availability and integrity of the information resources. Collaborates with the dining administrators to schedule system maintenance and resolve technical issues in a timely manner. Project manager for system upgrades and hardware replacements. Functions as an intermediary for dining administration when support and technical issues arise with vendor software and systems. Creates and maintains technical documentation of systems and verify accuracy through annual audits. Maintains communications with Assistant Director of IT on all tasks and projects.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience with managing hospitality or dining point of sale systems in a large-scale environment.
- Strong background in configuring hardware firewalls.
- Well-developed project management skills
- Proven experience providing excellent customer service.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience with managing and maintaining Windows Server 2019, Windows 10, and Windows 11
- Demonstrable experience in server virtualization
- Proven capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior IT experience in higher education setting
- Previous involvement in IT support and Windows server administration roles
- Understanding of Active Directory and group policy
- Experience with WatchGuard Firebox management
- Previous exposure to network monitoring tools and intrusion detection systems
- Proficiency in using IT management platforms like Kaseya and IT ticketing systems.
