Position Summary
Come
join us in the newly established state of the art Center of Excellence is
located in the two-story 50,000-square-foot structure, located adjacent to UNM
Sandoval Regional Medical Center (SRMC) in beautiful Rio Rancho's City Center.
This is a state of the art location where the majority of UNM Health's joint
replacement surgeries, including total hip, total knee, foot and ankle, elbow
and shoulders, are already being performed at SRMC. The new facility includes
exam rooms for patients to consult with surgeons, an extensive orthopaedics
research laboratory and a rehabilitation facility for physical therapy.
This
position as Operations Specialist with the Center of Excellence offers the
unique opportunity to design, develop, coordinate, and facilitate the execution
of specified projects and initiatives for a major, multifaceted operating
entity of the University. Establishes project priorities and schedules, in line
with strategic plans and operating objectives. Provides specialized advice,
facilitation, and support to management, faculty, staff, and/or students in the
development and implementation of effective systems, procedures, programs,
and/or practices. May oversee one or more specified key operational or business
functions for the unit, as appropriate to individual requirements.
The Center of Excellence for
Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, which is housed within the SOM Department of
Orthopaedics, is currently seeking a qualified Operations Specialist to manage the
day-to-day activities of the Center's operations. This position will be central to overseeing
the operational and fiscal duties on a day-to-day basis between SOM Department
of Orthopaedics and the Research department. This role will be focused around innovative and creative approaches to
increase visibility and reach of the Center. This will include developing a fee
schedule for internal and external contacts and tracking all receivables. This
person will be heavily involved in developing the web and marketing presence
for the Center. The Operations Specialist will be a liaison between the School of
Medicine, the SRMC clinics and hospital onsite, the providers, the Research
Team, the Administrator and will be wholly involved in all outreach and growth
activities. This individual will be directly responsible for the monthly
billings, reconciliations, and financial program reporting, and ensuring
compliance with approved budgets. The
candidate must have advanced Excel and Access skills to create custom queries
from multiple financial systems to meet reporting parameters. They will work
collaboratively with our partner organizations to quantify, analyze, and
finalize reporting. Ad-hoc reporting as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
UNM Financial platforms including Banner, My Reports, Chrome River, and Lobomart
Experience with budget analysis, preparations, and review of expenditures to ensure expenditure control and compliance with funding and reporting requirements
Proficiency in Accounting or financial invoicing/reconciliation
Proficient in Excel, Access, or similar
Experience in Orthopaedics or Research, preferred.
Familiarity with ISC, (internal Service Center), preferred.
