Position Highlights
The Wilson Laboratory is seeking a Research Technician to assist in lab management and performing experiments related to multiple basic research projects. The laboratory utilizes a variety of animals models and molecular, biochemical and cellular assays to explore how the dynamic relationship between the intestinal microbiota and the innate immune system impacts chronic inflammation and cancer development/progression. In particular, the laboratory has a strong emphasis on the identification and targeting of cell signal transduction pathways and inflammatory cytokines for the treatment of these diseases. An ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, be well-organized, self-motivated and work well both independently and in larger research groups.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up lab equipment following detailed procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory procedures such as handling of autoimmune arthritis model, immuno and histological
staining, ELISA, Flow analysis, light and fluorescent microscopy, RT-PCR. - Analyze data, record information, and maintain logs of experimental data.
- Mouse colony management including PCR genotyping and weaning of the mouse litters.
- Assist in training students working in the laboratory.
- General lab upkeep including ordering and maintaining lab supplies.
- Assist with grant and manuscript submissions.
- Manage lab safety protocol, waste material and arrange for disposal according to established procedures.
- Clean/sterilize instruments, glassware, and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
