Job Description
This is a full-time 9-month faculty position that requires teaching in any of the engineering classes at Laurel Ridge Community College. The faculty member would also assist with engineering and engineering technology curriculum and program development. Typical loads for full time faculty are normally 15 credit hours per semester with 10 office hours required each week. Faculty members are also required to collaborate with others (full and part-time instructors) to ensure teaching uniformity and continuity of material and expectations. Collateral duties include advising, recruiting, and service on college committees. Faculty members are required to work to help further the goals of the engineering department and institution. Teaching schedules may include day and evening, weekend, on and off-campus, in person, hybrid and web delivery. Faculty members will also be required to use state-of-the-art classroom teaching technologies. While this position is primarily assigned to the Fauquier Campus, faculty may be required to teach at the Middletown Campus, as needed by the college. Faculty members are required to work to help further the goals of the college and programs and support policies and procedures dictated by the Virginia Community College System. The successful candidate will also be required to work on developing curriculum for new and existing programs. Laurel Ridge is seeking an engaged, creative instructor. Candidates must have the required academic background in engineering or engineering technology and teaching experience is desired, preferably at the community college level.

The salary range for the position is $48,263 to $94,806, per year, however, actual starting salary will commensurate with education and/or experience. The position is a 9 month faculty role and as such is eligible for the benefits package offered by the Commonwealth of Virginia for state agencies and the Virginia Community College System. KSA's/Required Qualifications
Master's degree in the discipline of Engineering or a Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline of Engineering. Must be in one of the following disciplines; Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Biomedical, Industrial, Mining, or a closely-related discipline;
Additional Considerations
Considerable full-time work experience in the field, not including research work while in graduate school or research work while employed as full-time faculty
Teaching experience, preferably in higher education, and or at a community college.
Demonstrable knowledge of any of the following software programs: Matlab, C++, Python, AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, or Civil3D
Demonstrated ability to teach using technology in the classroom and/or online course delivery.
18 graduate school semester credits in courses with math and or physics prefix
Operation of a State Vehicle: Yes

Required Travel
Travel as per any required duties of the position, such as to sites/campuses and any training. Ability to cover assignments throughout the college service region as necessary for the job is required.
